Back at the beginning of October The Soundmen, aka Scott Durday & Justin Jamison, released My Friends, our favorite single thus far off their upcoming EP set for release later this month. The track has made big waves for the duo, with the addition of Panic City and Brett singer Mick Coogan creating an inventive blend of indie-pop, electro and hip-hop influenced beats. Today we’re happy to be bringing you a remix of the tune from Caleb L’Etoile, who’s added his own signature twist to the mix. The DC based producer swaps out the catchy, carefree style of the original for a more entrancing take, reigning in the soaring vocals to an echoing incantation and driving things forward with a crisp piano house backbone. Though a definite diversion, this one will without a doubt get things moving. You can pick yourself up a copy for free below, and don’t forget to keep your ears open for much more coming from The Soundmen very soon.
